The 2015 “International Conference on Chinese and African Sustainable Urbanization: A Canadian and International Perspective (ICCASU)” took place on October 24th and 25th at the University of Ottawa. The conference proceedings were done in partnership between the University of Ottawa and the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN Habitat).Over 100 scholars, practitioners and policy-makers across multiple disciplines discussed and debated the issue of urbanization in China and Africa. They represented 64 Institutions and 18 countries. During his opening remarks, the Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Madagascar, H.E Constant HORACE highlighted the fast urbanization of the African Continent and its consequences. H.E. Solomon AZOH-MBI, High Commissioner of Cameroon was among the keynote speakers of the Conference. 9 African Countries hosted the African Cultural Night on Friday October 23th.
